How to take care of senior citizens at home and save Medicare were two topics at a home healthcare discussion in Bridgeport Wednesday morning.
The Partnership for Quality Home Healthcare invited healthcare workers and patients to tell their stories and ask questions. About 21,000 seniors receive specialized in-home care right here in the Mountain State. Some believe that this type of care can save thousands in medical bills which would help Medicare because it would reduce costs.
“Home health is now able to provide acute, chronic rehabilitative care in the patients home and we’re able to do it at less cost than many other types of healthcare services so we are releasing new research that talks about the quality of home health,” said Mara Brenner, from the Partnership for Quality Home Healthcare.
Congressman David MckKnley was also on hand to hear what everyone had to say because he’s working to spearhead these types of discussions in Washington.
