Momentum is Building for Legislation to Protect Home Health

Since the introduction of the Home Health Payment Innovation Act (S.433 & H.R. 2573) in the House and Senate, we have seen support continue to grow across the country — and on Capitol Hill — for this vital legislation!

15 bipartisan Members of Congress have joined in support of the House bill and 13 bipartisan Senators have followed suit.

Home health advocates like you have been busy raising awareness about this legislation across the country too. Dozens of letters urging lawmakers to protect seniors have been published in newspapers in local communities. See some highlights below:

“So long as Kentuckians value the right to choose our own care, we must do everything possible to protect access to home health care for Medicare patients. I applaud Paul’s hard work to protect Kentuckians’ Medicare benefits and urge all Kentucky lawmakers to support S. 433 so seniors can maintain access to home health care when they need it most.”

– Evan C. Reinhardt in the Courier Journal

“The Home Health Payment Innovation Act would fix problems with this new system to ensure seniors don’t lose access to care.”

– Jan Springer in the Las Vegas Sun

“On behalf of Louisiana’s home health community, I thank our lawmakers for their thoughtful approach to reform — and their commitment to Louisiana’s seniors and dedicated home health care professionals.”

– Warren Hébert in The Advocate

“Across the U.S., more than 3.5 million seniors rely on Medicare home health to remain in their homes and receive necessary skilled health care services, including nursing and therapy services. However, a new Medicare payment model is threatening to risk access to care for our most vulnerable seniors.”

– Luke James in the Dallas Morning News
