Home Health Legislation Support Continues to Grow!

Since the introduction of the Home Health Payment Innovation Act (S.433 & H.R. 2573) in the House and Senate earlier this year, we have seen support continue to grow on Capitol Hill — and across the country — for this vital legislation!

Now, nearly 120 bipartisan Members of Congress have joined in support of the House bill and 28 bipartisan Senators have followed suit.

Home health advocates like you have been busy raising awareness about this legislation across the country too! Dozens of letters urging lawmakers to protect seniors have been published in newspapers in local communities. See some highlights from recent articles below:

“I urge all Ohio lawmakers to support this bill to ensure that Medicare’s new payment model is reformed before implemented to protect delivery of quality home health care.”

Joe Russell, Executive Director of the Ohio Council for Home Care & Hospice

“Despite the value of Medicare home health to our state, policy changes in Washington could threaten the delivery of care to nearly 62,000 beneficiaries across Indiana who depend on these services. Fortunately, Sen. Todd Young is at the forefront of the fight to protect this important care sector through new federal legislation.”

Evan Reinhardt, Executive Director of the Indiana Association for Home and Hospice Care

“I applaud Congresswoman Val Demings for recognizing the value of home health and supporting legislation that would refine Medicare’s new payment structure — safeguarding her constituents in the 10th district from potential negative consequences of Medicare cuts. On their behalf, I thank her for taking action and adding her name to the Home Health Payment Innovation Act (S. 433 and H.R. 2573). I hope our other federal lawmakers will act quickly to do the same.”

Olive Gaye, Orlando Sentinel
