New regs wills undermine home health care in Alabama

Over the past few years, more and more retired Americans have begun calling Alabama home. Considered one of the best states to retire because of a warm climate, low taxes, and most importantly our emphasis on home and family, Alabama has a lot to offer Americans entering their golden years.

Unsurprisingly, these family and community oriented values have also influenced our approach to healthcare. Every year, growing numbers of senior citizens are choosing to receive care in the comfort and safety of their own homes through Medicare’s home health benefit. Since many of these Alabamans suffer from age related disabilities and chronic disease which make it difficult to access outpatient care facilities, receiving care at home is both medically necessary and essential to maintaining quality of life.
