Home Health Agencies Gird for Battle Over Medicare Payment Cuts

A nearly 4% cut in Medicare home health payments this year has forced Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, Neb., to reject new patients, cut staff, and eliminate evening, weekend, and holiday care.

The health system may have to scrap home health operations altogether if Medicare implements a proposed 2.2% cut of $375 million next year.
