CMS Finalizes Controversial HH Pay Rates, Hospice Oversight Reforms
Inside Health Policy
CMS on Wednesday (Nov. 1) said it expects to pay home health agencies .8% more in 2024 compared to this year, an increase of about $140 million, and also finalized a set of controversial reforms to the Hospice Special Focus Program. The 2024 home health final rule drew the immediate anger of both the home health and hospice lobbies, which contested CMS’ assertion that the rates for 2024 are a raise and slammed the agency for disregarding stakeholders’ concerns about pay adjustments tied to CMS’ home health pay method.
